A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 11:00 am at Fairfax City Cemetery, 10567 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22030. God has received one of his finest warriors. Not many have the endurance to fight as ferociously as Johann did over the past 22 months. The strength in his soul is unmatched and his determination to stay positive and strong are a testament to his belief in God's perfect love. He was a true inspiration to all who knew his struggle. Johann was a perfect patient and fought his battle with dignity and grace, never complaining and remaining positive throughout his hard fought journey. He taught us all a lesson in selflessness and tenacity. Johann was a big adventurer and loved to experience new things. He always kept a fluid bucket list, checking things off when accomplished. When the doctors told him it was time for hospice care, he opened his iPad and wrote a new bucket list. That was the incredible positive attitude that truly encompasses the strength of this amazing warrior. Johann is right where he has been called to be, at the Lord's side in the kingdom of heaven. God needed a fearless warrior who is battle tested and proven to be the best of the best, and he found him. Online condolences may be left at www.demainefairfaxfuneralhome.com.
